Fujifilm announced the development of the 100MP
mirrorless camera back in September 2018 at Photokina and it may be coming to
the Philippines. The Japanese company announced the development of the 100 megapixel
digital medium format mirrorless camera more than two years after the release
of the original GFX 50S and the GF line of lenses.
A picture of the prototype of the Medium format
camera surfaced in Facebook that teased that the camera is coming soon to
Philippine shores. Looking back, Fujifilm was teasing the upcoming camera when they said
that the GF lenses were designed to render high quality images for sensors with
up to 100 MP resolution.
Because of the the high resolution 100MP BSI sensor,
the tiniest movements will introduce shake so it was designed with In-body
image stabilization along with the ability to shoot 4K at 30fps 10-bit 4:2:0
internally or 10-bit 4:2:2 with an external recorder.
The upcoming camera from Fujifilm does not have an
official price yet but it is expected to be priced around the USD 10,000. This
is a bargain because competing cameras can't compete with the Specs of this
camera but starts at US$ 23,995.
There is no word yet on the official availability,
but Fujifilm Global has said that they are targeting June 2019. Whether or not
this will be the same in the Philippines has yet to be confirmed. We will update the article if new
information surfaces.
