If you are in the market for a pocket mini laptop
you may be interested to know that Chinese hardware manufacturer Chuwi may soon
be launching a convertible pocket laptop equipped with an 8 inch display.
Following similar design styles used to create the GDP pocket and other mini
laptop systems the new mini laptop is expected to be called the Chuwi Minibook.
Equipped with a 360° hinge the mini laptop can be
used as either a small laptop or tablet and is expected to be equipped with a
USB Type-C port, USB 3.0 Type-A port, USB 2.0 Type-A port and mini HDMI port
connection. As well as the obligatory 3.5 mm audio jack and a handy microSD
card reader allowing you to increase the systems storage if required.
Chuwi has also included a two megapixel camera and
according to iLife the new system will be powered by an Intel Celeron N4000
dual-core or Celeron N4100 quad-core processor supported by options for either
4GB or 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of eMMC storage depending on your
requirements and budget. Disappointingly the system is expected to only provide
four hours of battery life from the rechargeable 3,500 mAh integrated battery,
says iLife.
The mini laptop is also equipped with a M.2 slot
which is accessible by removing a single screw on the access panel positioned
on the bottom of the laptop. You can also expect 4G LTE connectivity options to
be made available although no pricing or availability has been provided as yet.
