Google brought the Google Assistant functionality to
cars through Android Auto and also baked into all modern day android
smartphone. But, not all cars that are available in the market support Android
Auto. Google aims to change that as it collaborates with Anker and launches a
new product today named Roav Bolt which can add Google Assistant mic to any
car.
Anker Roav Bolt is a car accessory that plugs into
one’s car cigarette lighter. The Roav Bolt sports a minimal profile and has as
a round knob that features the standard four Google Assistant lights. It is
coupled with a dual noise-canceling microphone that can listen through car
noise and even ambient noise.
The Roav Bolt pairs with the user’s phone and the
car speaker system through Bluetooth and the far-field built-in mics on the
device can hear the user’s voice even when the phone is locked or stashed away.
Additionally, the device comes with two 12W (5V-2.4A)USB ports for charging a
smartphone and other electronic devices.
With the dedicated Google Assistant on the Roav
Bolt, users can simply say “Hey Google” along with the necessary phrase.
According to Google, this can provide help in four main areas like Navigation,
Communication, Entertainment and Getting things done.
The Anker Roav Bolt is priced at US$ 49.99 and the pre-orders are live on Anker’s website. It will also be
available at Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart in the coming weeks.
