Alleged photos of the Meizu 16s and 16s Plus have
surfaced. The company’s CEO previously teased that the devices will not have
notches or punch holes of any kind, which he calls “quad bezel-less display”. The Meizu 16s will have a 6.2”
screen, the Plus model does up to 6.76”. In both cases a 1080p+ AMOLED panel is
used, covered with Gorilla Glass 6. The chin on the 16s is 1.5mm thinner than
on the Meizu 16, according to official teasers.
The 16s phones will upgrade to the Snapdragon 855
chipset and they will bring a 48MP Sony IMX586 camera with OIS. The 16s will be
powered by a very thin 3,600mAh battery. It will lack wireless charging as the
company apparently doesn’t think it’s vital. Comments from the CEO indicate
that the Meizu 16s duo will launch in April or May and will cost more than CNY
3,300 (US$ 490/€ 430).
