The Nokia 1 Plus is a larger
version of the Nokia 1 launched a year ago. It's still the same budget phone
running Android Go edition, but with a taller 5.45" screen and a larger
2,500 mAh battery.
So, the new Nokia 1 Plus has a 5.45" IPS LCD
display of 480 x 960 pixels (18:9 aspect ratio). Under the hood, the chipset is
still the same MT6739 one with a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor and PowerVR
GE8100 GPU. There is also 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage - the same
as on the original Nokia 1.
Obviously, that's quite a feeble hardware and hence
the Android Go Edition though this time around it's version 9 Pie. It will
receive monthly security updates, as usual. The camera department got an
upgrade, too. The Nokia 1 Plus has an 8MP camera with autofocus and LED flash
at the back and a 5MP selfie snapper at the front with Beauty mode.
The Nokia 1 Plus will be available in black, red,
and blue options and will retail at US$ 89. A limited 16GB model will go on sale
for US$ 99 in Latin America at some point. The Nokia 1 Plus has interchangeable
back covers and a removable battery.
