Razer has announced a new range of the Razer Blade
15 Advanced Model gaming laptops. This upgrade is mostly focused on increased
graphics performance with the inclusion of new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20-series
GPUs. The company has also introduced the all-new 27-inch gaming monitor
concept; the Razer Raptor.
All models are powered by the latest 8th Gen Intel
Core i7-8750H 6 core processor, 16GB of dual-channel system memory with up to
512 GB of fast SSD storage. Additionally, it also comes with a new Windows
Hello-capable IR camera. The Base Model of the Razer Blade 15 features the
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU with Max-Q design and a CNC-milled compact aluminum
chassis.
The high-end Blade 15 will be available with a
choice of RTX 2060 (6 GB GDDR6), RTX 2070 (8 GB GDDR6), or the RTX 2080 (8 GB
GDDR6), with the top two configurations using a Max-Q design. As the name
suggests, the base model sports a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) displays with
144 Hz refresh rates. All models feature 4.9mm thin bezels flanking the
display. There is also a model with 240 Hz refresh rates and sports a 4K OLED
touch display.
The Razer Blade 15 comes with vapor chamber
technology for the cooling solution instead of the traditional heat pipes found
in most gaming laptops. The new GeForce RTX 20-series GPUs utilize GDDR6
memory. The Razer Blade 15 model packs 16GB of DDR4-2667 MHz dual-channel
system memory and up to 512 GB, with support for up to 2 TB of storage. The
dual-front firing speakers also support Dolby Atmos for immersive audio.
Razer has also announced its all-new 27-inch gaming
monitor concept, the Razer Raptor. The desktop screen will be unveiled at CES
2019 as an early-design-phase model. The production units are slated for
release later this year. It comes with a custom-calibrated WQHD (2560×1440) IPS
edge-to-edge panel with thin 2.3 mm bezels. The monitor will feature AMD Radeon
FreeSync adaptive sync technology with fast response times featuring 1 ms
Motion Blur reduction and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz.
The Razer Raptor can display vibrant colors, thanks
to its 95% DCI-P3 wide color gamut and support for HDR content. The monitor is
height adjustable monitor is also capable of tilting backward of up to 90
degrees for easy I/O ports access. It comes with built-in CNC milled channels,
1 HDMI, 1 DisplayPort, 1 USB-C which includes power delivery, and 2 USB-A 3.1
ports.
The new Razer Blade 15 Gaming Laptops with NVIDIA
GeForce RTX 20-series GPUs start at US$ 2,299 and will be
available from January 29 from Razer.com and select retailers in the United States,
Canada, France, United Kingdom, Germany, and China. The Base Model of the Razer
Blade 15 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU with Max-Q design is currently
available starting at US$ 1,599 from Razer.com and other
retailers. The new Razer Raptor gaming monitor is priced at US$ 699 and is scheduled to be available later this year from Razer.com in the
U.S. and Canada.
