With almost three months still to go until its
official announcement, what appears to be a prototype of the upcoming Samsung
Galaxy S10+ has been spotted in testing at one of the company’s factories.
Much like the 5G demo phone that Samsung showed off
earlier this week, the prototype in question sports a rather odd-looking notch
in the corner of the display. This time around, though, it actually houses two
front-facing cameras. Additionally, this prototype sports significantly thinner
bezels above and below the display that are likely indicative of the final
size. When it comes to the side ones, though, these aren’t representative of
the finished look. After all, Samsung is once again expected to use a curved
edge panel.
Photos of the prototype’s rear unfortunately weren’t
published online. But considering this particular unit is having its cameras
tested, a quadruple-camera setup that is aligned horizontally is likely
included.
The Samsung Galaxy S10+ should make its first
official appearance in late February at MWC 2019. The smartphone is set to
feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that is accompanied by one of two processors
depending on the region – either Samsung’s own Exynos 9820 or Qualcomm’s
Snapdragon 855. Regardless of this, 6GB of RAM is to be expected as well as
128GB of internal storage. Android 9 Pie complete with the One UI overlay will
also come pre-installed while, in the battery department, a 4,000mAh cell is
rumored.
