Today, GPD, which is known for its mini PCs announced a new product,
specifically designed for IT professionals. As the manufacturer says, the GPD
MicroPC is made for network and system administrator users.
Although the GPD MicroPC can be used almost for
anything, it is speculated that its target customers are IT professionals who
need to connect to the server remotely. This device seems to be smaller and
more portable, than the previous product in face of the GPD Pocket.
When you access servers and workstations remotely,
the computer itself does not need to be too powerful. That’s why the GPD
MicroPC has only the Intel Celeron N4100 chip, a 4GB of RAM, and a 128GB of SSD
but it supports a dual-band 5GHz Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet. These are the
lifeblood of the IT professionals. At the same time, it still has a narrow
keyboard with backlighting.
The GPD MicroPC currently has a crowdfunding price
of US$ 299. Definitely, it cannot be the user’s main computer. But when you go out
and need to use a computer, it can serve you as an emergency device.
