OPPO launched the
new R17 Neo in Japan. It is joining the R17 and R17 Pro in the family and it
also sports an In-Display fingerprint reader. It has a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED
display running at 2340 x 1080 resolution. It has an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 and
an unspecified Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Inside, it has a 1.95GHz
Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM. 128GB of expandable
storage and a 3,600mAh battery.
In terms of
cameras, it has dual 16MP+2MP rear sensors and a 25MP selfie sensor. It is
running Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with ColorOS 5.2 on top of it. It has
4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB OTG capabilities.
This seems to be
the more budget friendly variant of the OPPO R17 as it is priced roughly around
CNY 2,378. For comparisons, the OPPO R17 goes for CNY 3,499 for the 8GB/128GB
variant and CNY 3,199 for the 6GB/128GB variant. The OPPO R17 Pro, with its
triple camera system and Siper VOOC charging, comes in at CNY 4,299. The OPPO
R17 Neo comes in two colors, red and blue. Local availability is yet to be
