Following on from the availability of the new
LattePanda Alpha mini PC earlier this month which measures just 4.3 x 3.1 x 0.5
inches in size and is now available to purchase priced at around US$ 298. The mini
PC is equipped with the same processor as an entry-level 2016 MacBook or 2017
Microsoft Surface Pro and has now been loaded with the latest Apple macOS
Mojave operating system.
A couple of issues still exist and should be noted
before trying to install macOS 10.14 Mojave on the LattePanda Alpha :
- On-board WiFi doesn’t work, so you’ll either need to use an Ethernet connection or a USB WiFi adapter.
- The OS can be installed on an M.2 SSD or a SATA drive with an appropriate adapter. But it doesn’t run from eMMC.
- As of October 29th, onboard audio doesn’t work. That may be fixed soon, but in the meantime you may be able to get by with a USB audio adapter.
