Huawei has announced two new wearable
devices — Huawei Band 3 Pro and Huawei Band 3e for sale in the US. This comes
at a time when the company is facing scrutiny from the US government due to
escalating trade war.
The Huawei Band 3 Pro fitness tracker comes with an
ergonomically designed metallic body and a silicone rubber wristband. It
features a 0.95-inch AMOLED touchscreen display and is 50ATM rated that offers
up to 50 meters of water resistance.
The device is packed with a 100mAh battery which is
claimed to provide seven hours of usage with GPS tracking turned on. Thanks to
the AI and TruSeen 3.0 heart monitoring system, it offers accurate heart rate
readings. Other functions include sleep monitoring, swimming tracker, sports
tracking and coaching.
Once paired with a smartphone, the wearable device
will offer features like notifications for incoming calls and messages, reject
calls, Find my Phone, photo time and remote. It can be availed in colors like
Obsidian Black, Space Blue and Quicksand Gold.
The Huawei Band 3e is more of an entry-level
offering which comes with basic fitness tracking and intelligent notifications.
It is fitted with a 0.5-inch PMOLED screen and the smart band is water
resistant up to 50 meters, which makes it safe to use in the pool. The device,
which comes with sleep monitoring technology. It offers an impressive 14 days
of battery life in “typical use.”
Both the devices It will be available for purchase
in the US through Amazon, B&H Photo Video, and Newegg and will soon be
followed by the likes of Circuit City, Office Depot, Adorama, Rakuten, and
Tiger Direct. While the Huawei Band 3 Pro is priced at US$ 69.99, the Band 3e
costs US$ 29.99.
