HMD Global just made two new interesting Android One
powered smartphones official for the Philippine market, the Nokia 5.1 Plus and
6.1 Plus. The Nokia 5.1 Plus is the more affordable option between the two. It
is priced at just PHP 12,990.
It boast sturdy metal frame and 2.5D curved glass at
the back and on the screen. It has a 5.8-inch 2.5D screen with 19:9 screen
aspect ratio. Under the hood, it runs with the powerful 2.0GHz 64-bit Helio P60
octa-core processor paired with Mali-T72 MP3 GPU. It is paired with 3GB RAM, 32GB
of expandable storage up to 400GB, and 3,060mAh battery capacity.
At the back, it has a dual-camera setup. It include
a 13MP f/2.0 sensor paired with a 5MP depth camera. It also has PDAF and LED
flash. For selfies, you will see an 8MP f/2.2 shooter with 80.4-degree
wide-angle lens.
Next is the more premium, Nokia 6.1 Plus priced at
PHP 15,990. It has a sandwiched metal and glass construction and a 5.8-inch
FHD+ 19:9 screen with an amazing 93 percent screen-to-body ratio! Under the hood, it runs with the
lower-end Snapdragon 636 processor versus the Helio P60 MediaTek chip of the
Nokia 5.1 Plus. But, it has a good performing Adreno 509 GPU and larger 4GB
RAM/64GB expandable storage up to 400GB. It also has a nicer looking 16MP
f/2.0 RGB sensor + 5MP f/2.2 monochrome sensor w/ PDAF, EIS, and LED flash. It
also has a 16MP f/2.0 shooter for selfies.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus is available
for pre-order at Argomall and MemoXpress from October 12 to 26, 2018. Those who will pre-order will get
a PAL travel voucher worth PHP 1K for domestic flights
