GeekBench is quickly becoming the go-to website for
those who want to learn about the latest devices coming into the market, albeit
some are pretty hard to figure out. Case in point, the Meizu phone that popped
up today on the benchmark platform that goes by the M1822 code name.
The Meizu M1822 tested on the website is apparently
powered by a Qualcomm SoC with a 1484 single-core score and 5639 points in
multi-score tasks. The various details on the page, along with the scores
suggests that we’re looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, a supposedly good and
very power efficient chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM.
As far as the handset itself goes, it’s really hard
to tell at the moment, but rumors have it that it’s the successor of the Meizu
M6S launched back in January of this year or the Meizu M6T from May. The
entry-level phone series does indeed need a refresh and this Snapdragon 632
powered handset might just be the right move.
If our assumptions are correct and this is a Meizu
M7, we can then expect a price tag below US$ 200.
