Amazon just
launched New Kindle Paperwhite e-reader with a waterproof body with IPX8
ratings to protect against immersion in up to two metres of fresh water for up
to 60 minutes, similar to the Kindle Oasis (2017). It has the same 6-inch touch
screen at 300 PPI pixel density, but this has a 8.18mm slim body and weighs 182
grams, making it the thinnest and lightest Kindle Paperwhite yet.
It has 8GB of
storage, which is twice the storage as the previous generation and can hold thousands
of titles, and 32GB for the WiFi + 4G version for storing even more content. It
says battery will last for up to six weeks, based on a half hour of reading per
day with wireless off and the light setting at 13.
The company has
introduced new personalization features, including:
- An updated home—The new home experience makes it easier to find your next read based on your reading history, including books that are free for you to read from Kindle Unlimited or Prime Reading.
- Easily personalize your reading—Now save multiple reading settings, selecting the font, boldness level, and orientation settings you prefer, all from the main menu and quickly switch between those settings.
- These features will also be available for all-new Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Paperwhite Gen 6 (released in 2013) via update.
The new Kindle
Paperwhite comes in Black color, is priced at Rs. 12999 for the 8GB WiFi
version and the 32GB WiFi + 4G version costs Rs. 17,999. It is now available
for pre-order from Amazon.in and goes on
sale from November 14th.
