The Google Pixel 3 XL has already leaked in many
ways over the past month or so in various renders and hands-on photos ever
since someone got their hands on a few and began selling them illegitimately. One of those devices is on the
loose and made it all the way to Russia where YouTuber Rozetked uploaded a full
high-res hands-on video explaining a couple of the differences and improvements
that the 3 XL has over the Pixel 2 XL.
Of course, we’ve already known what the darn thing
looks like for a while now. However, Rozetked’s video briefly compares the
Pixel 3 XL next to the Pixel 2 XL and mentions that the 3 XL has about the same
footprint as the 2 XL with a significantly bigger display. He does point out
that the new Pixel’s camera protrudes even more, therefore making it rock if
you try to use it against a flat surface.
Rozetked does mention a piece of news. The Pixel 3
XL apparently has “a new awesome vibration system” akin to that on Apple’s
devices, which Apple calls its Taptic Engine, even going as far as saying that
it “may be better” and its feedback is very pleasant. Meanwhile, his initial
impressions of the Pixel 3 XL’s camera is that it blows both the Galaxy Note9
and the iPhone XS out of the water despite it having a single camera.
The blogger also speculates about a possible “Ultra”
version of the Pixel with a completely bezel-less display. Of course, if there
was such a thing, we’ve not seen any concrete evidence of its existence. Google will make everything
official on October 9, when it will hold its Google launch event in New York
City.
