ZTE nubia Red Magic Camouflage edition

The China Joy tech exhibition kicks off in a few hours and ZTE is bringing a treat – a new limited edition color option for the nubia Red Magic. The gaming phone initially launched in Red and Black, the new option is a Camouflage paint job.

An ultraviolet laser was used to etch the markings on the back and there’s a special fingerprint-resistant coating to keep the phone looking pristine. There’s a rumor going around that the cooling system has been upgraded for this model, though it seems that this isn’t the case. As a reminder, the nubia Red Magic has three layers of graphite to pull the heat from the Snapdragon 835 chipset, transfer it to a heat pipe and to the four vents for convection cooling.

The limited edition will cost the same as the regular paint jobs – that’s CNY 2,500 for the 6GB / 64GB model and CNY 3,000 for the 8GB / 128GB version (US$ 365/€ 315 and US$ 440/€ 380 respectively). It’s not available yet, but you can reserve one on JD.com – this is a limited edition sale that will start on August 9, so if you want one, you may want to get in line.
