Right on schedule, Xiaomi made the Mi 8 available in
the Philippines. It is the company's latest top-of-the-line device with beastly
specs for the price. The Xiaomi Mi 8 highlights a metal and glass construction which looks
premium overall. It also has a notched 6.21-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ 2248 x
1080 resolution at 402 pixels per inch. It is equivalent to 18:7:9 screen
aspect ratio and 88.5 screen-to-body ratio.
Under the hood, it has the Snapdragon 845 octa-core
processor with Adreno 630 GPU as expected. It also has 3,400mAh battery with
the new Quick Charge 4+ technology. Is rechargeable via USB Type-C port. At the back, it has a dual 12MP
f/2.0 camera with AI Portrait and AI Beauty modes. For selfies, it has a 20MP
f/2.0 sensor with AI Face Beauty and IR face unlock which works even in
lowlight.
It also has WiFi, 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth
5.0, dual-frequency GPS, and dual SIM card slots. It loads with Android Oreo with
MIUI 10 soon. The phone measures at 154.9 x 74.8 7.6 mm and weighs
at 175 g. This phone has two varaints. It will go with either 6GB RAM/64GB ROM
for PHP 25,990 or 8GB RAM/128GB ROM for PHP 27,990.
