Xiaomi had announced a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage
variant of the Mi 8SE some days ago and reservations for the new variant was
opened on Xiaomi Mall and Suning Tesco. The new memory variant of the premium
mid-range smartphone has now officially gone on sale in China. The new Xiaomi
Mi 8 SE memory variant comes with a generous 2299 yuan (US$ 338) price tag.
As would be recalled, the Mi 8 SE was launched
alongside the Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition on May 31. The Mi 8 SE was
available in 4GB+64GB and 6GB+64GB versions. This new variant expands the
options buyers have to choose from. The price isn’t too costly at 2299 yuan
considering the 4GB variant has a price tag of 1799 yuan (US$ 264) while the 6GB +
64GB version comes in at 1999 yuan (US$ 293).
Apart from a beautiful design, the main standout
feature of the Mi 8SE is definitely the Snapdragon 710 chipset onboard. This is
Qualcomm’s latest premium mid-range chipset with some level of improved
performance and energy efficiency over the SD 660 chipset. Xiaomi Mi 8 SE
equally comes with a 5.88-inch display, dual cameras and fingerprint sensor at
the rear, a powerful 3120mAh battery and more.
