Samsung has been working on 8K TVs and while many
have yet to upgrade to even a 4K set at this point, it looks like the company
is going to launch its first 8K TV at the IFA 2018 convention in Berlin this
month. They are serious about 8K. Samsung has already put up a huge sign in
Berlin which suggests that it will be unveiling an 8K TV at the convention. So it looks like Samsung might
talk about its first 8K QLED TV at IFA 2018 later this month. “Prepare to be amazed
at IFA,” says the sign.
Samsung showed off its Q9S 8K TV at the Consumer
Electronics Show in January and mentioned during a presentation at the QLED and
Advanced Display conference a few months back that it would be releasing a few
8K TVs this year. The company didn’t say how many models it’s going to release or talk
about pricing and the available date for purchase. We might get the answers to
these questions at IFA 2018.
The billboard in Berlin speaks for itself. We don’t
know if the company will simply be demonstrating the technology at the
convention or if it will reveal more details about the public launch of the 8K
models. Stay tuned.
