PLDT is bringing WiFi connectivity to Filipino households
for only PHP 15 a day. Telco giant PLDT's home business unit has just introduced a more
affordable version of its home broadband. Despite the cheaper price, the
newly-launched PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi is capable of offering fast internet
connectivity, the group claimed. It even has 700MHz band support.
Citing data from global leader in internet testing
and analysis Ookla, PLDT has the fastest fixed network speeds int he first and
second quarter of 2018. PLDT beat Globe Telecom in the
said period wherein the former's fixed network posted a Speed Score of 17.31, higher
against its rival's 6.58. Given this, PLDT is bullish it could still deliver fast broadband
speed even in prepaid.
The telco said Filipino masses can now enjoy 1GB of
data for only PHP 15 for one day. Users only need to subscribe to Home Boost 15 for
this, or they may also opt to use this as an add-on to promos like Home Boost
50 and up.
The PLDT Home Prepaid WiFi can now be purchased at
all PLDT stores and retailers across the Philippines. This comes with free 10
GB for 7 days and a one-time payment of only PHP 1,995. PLDT is also providing the installment option
through Lendr for a downpayment of PHP 495 and six weekly payments of PHP 370.
You can pay this installment through Smart Padala center, Bayad Center, ECPay,
and 7-Eleven outlets.
With this new offering, more and more Filipinos can
now access social media sites or watch their favorite videos in YouTube.
