Apple has reportedly scheduled an event in
September, where the company is expected to launch new iPhones with an
edge-to-edge screen design. According to the trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi
Kuo, the yet-to-be-launched 2018 iPhone models will not support the Apple
Pencil, since it spoils the good user experience.
Kuo also believes that Apple will announce three new
iPhones with 5.8-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.5-inch OLED display. While the 5.8-inch
and 6.5-inch variant iPhones will be available starting from September, the
6.1-inch variant seems to be plagued by issues. He also added that the 6.1-inch
and 6.5-inch iPhone variants will come in both single and dual-SIM and will be
available to a specific market like China.
Talking about the rumored specifications, the
5.8-inch iPhone will not offer dual-SIM support, but it may include e-SIM. It
is expected to sport a display with a resolution of 2436 x 1125, offer a 2-cell
2,700 to 2,800 mAh battery and will go on sale at a price range of US$ 800 to US$ 890.
The 6.1-inch LCD model will have a display with a
resolution of 1792 x 828, single lens camera, 3GB RAM, 256GB and will be priced
around US$ 600 and US$ 699. It will be powered by 1-cell 2,600 to 2,700 mAh battery.
The 6.5-inch OLED iPhone variant is expected to come
with a display resolution of 2688 x 1242, 2-cell 3,300 to 3,400 mAh battery,
4GB RAM and a maximum of 512GB. It is expected to be priced around US$ 900 to US$ 999.
All the three iPhones are expected to be powered by
the new A12 chipset. Just like iPhone X, all the three iPhones will be having
the gesture-based control system along with Face ID. As per some rumors, these three
iPhone variants are expected to be announced around September 9th and will go
on sale starting from September 21st.
