Huawei announced the Nova 3i last month as the first
device with the Kirin 710 chipset. Two weeks ago we reported the phone would
arrive on August 7 in India as Amazon Exclusive, but today the device was only
listed for pre-order. Actual sales will open on August 11, but until then the
price tag is INR 20,990 (US$ 305/€ 265).
The Nova 3i was released as a more affordable
alternative of the Nova 3 that is powered by a Kirin 970 chipset. It comes with
a dual camera setup on the back, but it is just 16 MP primary sensor with 2 MP
secondary one for some artificial blur. Two more cameras with AI features are positioned on the front in the notch - 24 MP + 2 MP and a depth sensor.
Amazon is currently offering only the 4/128 GB
variant of the phone, and we might have to wait a little bit more until the
6/64 GB version is also available in India. The Nova 3i has a 3,5 mm audio
jack on the bottom, right next to the speaker and the USB-C port. The battery
is 3,340 mAh, but Huawei skipped on implementing its Super Charge technology
that tops up half the battery in 30 minutes.
Currently offered only in Black, the phone is not
only INR 3,000 off of its INR 23,999 MRP, but it also comes with cashback and
data offers from Reliance Jio and a free Bluetooth speaker, if the phone is
offered through a certain retailer.
