Honor 8X is nearing its launch, the company
confirmed on Weibo today. Honor posted an image that does not say much, but at
least confirms the phone is really arriving. The moniker is visualized as a
broken ice panel over a chipset and we think it might be a hint for cooling
technology like the one employed in the Honor Note 10.
The poster might be everything official we have for
now, but a device with a model number ARE-AL00 appeared on TENAA with full
specs. This is most likely the listing for the Honor 8X with 7.12” screen and
notched Full HD+ resolution.
The upcoming device will have a 600-series Qualcomm
chipset - it is either the Snapdragon 660 or the Snapdragon 636. The main
camera was listed as a dual 16 MP + 5 MP setup, while the selfie shooter,
tucked in the tiny notch is 8 MP. Because of the huge screen and the
177.57x86.24x8.13mm dimensions, Honor 8X weighs the astounding 210 grams.
We are still waiting for an official launch date
from Huawei’s subsidiary of the Honor 7X successor. Since the previous two
phones (along with the Honor 6X) appeared as unlocked devices at various
retailers in the United States, we could see the Honor 8X being sold at the US
market as well.
