A couple of months ago, Vivo had silently launched
Vivo Y71 in India, adding another device to the company’s list of Y-series
smartphones. Now, the Chinese firm has launched Vivo Y71i, a cheaper model of
the Y71 which comes with waterdowned specifications.
Just like the standard model, the Vivo Y71i also
comes with a 6-inch FullView HD+ display bearing a screen resolution of 1,440 x
720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by
Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 octa-core processor.
In terms of memory, the smartphone packs 2GB RAM and
16GB of internal storage. There’s also a microSD card slot, which enables users
to further expand the phone’s storage capacity. There’s an 8-megapixel rear
camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for taking selfies and video
calling.
Connectivity options on the device include Dual SIM,
4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. The smartphone is running
Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box with the company’s own FunTouch
OS 4.0 custom interface on top.
The smartphone has ditched the fingerprint sensor
and is relying on the Face Unlock feature for security which the company calls
Face Access. The device is fuelled by a 3,360mAh battery, which should be
enough to last an entire day of usage.
The Vivo Y71i will soon be available for purchase in
India through various brick-and-mortar stores across the country. The
smartphone is priced at Rs. 8,990, which roughly converts to US$ 131.
