Vivo has unveiled a smartphone that revolutionized the mobile industry – the Vivo NEX,
based on the Apex concept phone. VIvo’s flagship phone was launched in three
variants, with different set of features, going from the standard version
selling at 3898 Yuan (US$ 599), to the Ultimate (8GB+128GB) priced at 4498 Yuan
(US$ 690) and the Ultimate 8GB+256GB model selling for 4998 Yuan (US$ 769).
The standard version of the VIVO NEX has been in
stock for a while now, meanwhile the better specc’ed Ultimate editions have
been sold out practically always. Well, tomorrow that should change for a short
period of time as the phone maker will officially start another sale.
The Vivo NEX is the smartphone that adopts a real
full screen design without top notch, albeit we still have a small bezel at the
bottom. The big 6.59-inch display comes with a screen-to-body ratio of 91.24%,
which is quite impressive. Because of that, the camera, earpiece and various
sensors have been cleverly hidden in the fuselage.
In order to achieve high screen ratio, vivo NEX
pioneered a front sliding camera that pops up when needed. So, for example,
you’ll launch the camera app to snap a selfie and the camera will automatically
slide up.
According to a report published by the company,
Vivo’s NEX phone adopts a precision stepping motor that can be continuously
rise 50,000 times without failure, meanwhile stainless steel shell structure
can withstand large pulling or torsion force. The Vivo NEX also adopts a
third-generation under-display fingerprint recognition with a greatly improved
recognition rate and recognition speed.
In terms of specs, the Vivo NEX is equipped with a
Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and a battery capacity of 4000mAh; it runs Funtouch
OS system based on Android 8 Ore
