The Nokia X5 aka 5.1 Plus is all set to be unveiled
on the 11th of July. Just two days before launch, press renders of the alleged
smartphone have surfaced to reveal a notched smartphone following in the lines
of the Nokia X6.
The Nokia X5 looks very similar to the Nokia X6. The
notch up top, thin bezels on the side, and a chin with the Nokia branding. One
notable difference in the front is the width of the notch. It is wider than the
one on the X6. A reason for the same could be the presence of a dual camera up
front. But none of the earlier reports has detailed any such feature. Another
possibility can be the presence of facial recognition facilitated by structured
light. That actually sounds more plausible than a dual camera setup. The glass
back retains the dual camera setup and fingerprint scanner as found on the X6.
The Nokia X5 will be available in Black and Blue, although more colour variants
are expected.
The Nokia X5 will be launching internationally as
Nokia 5.1 Plus. It is reported to sport a 5.8-inch HD+ display with a 720 x
1520 resolution. It will likely be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-series
chipset or MediaTek Helio P60 clocked at 2GHz coupled with 3GB, 4GB or 6GB RAM
and 32GB or 64GB onboard storage. The rear camera setup on this one is expected
to be a combo of 13MP and 5MP snappers. The phone is all set to be unveiled on
the 11th this month, just two days away in China.
