There is a new trend in China which involves phone
manufacturing companies partnering with luxury car brands for special edition
models of their phones. In the last few years, Huawei has partnered with
Porsche Design for special models of its P and Mate series phones. This year
OPPO also joined the trend by partnering with luxury car brand Automobil
Lamborghini for the special edition OPPO Find X Lamborghini Edition.
The latest report from China says Honor is partnering
with British-owned Rolls Royce Holdings Plc for an Honor Note 10 Rolls Royce
Edition. Images of the said phone have surfaced online already. The Honor Note 10 Rolls Royce
Edition will come in Mirror Silver with the Rolls Royce Logo engraved on the
rear. Above the logo sits a vertical arrangement of two cameras, a LED flash,
and a fingerprint scanner. There is also Honor’s own logo at the bottom of the
phone.
The source says the Honor Note 10 Rolls Royce
Edition will sell for ¥ 9998 (US$ 1495). For that price, we expect more than just
a Rolls Royce logo on the rear of the device. This is the first time Huawei’s
sub-brand will be partnering with a luxury car brand. The Honor line is known
for offering affordable versions of Huawei’s main lineup along with exclusive
models of its own. It will be interesting to see how this is received when it
launches.
Apart from the Rolls Royce Edition, an image showing
all the color variants of the Honor Note 10 has also leaked online. The picture
shows the phone in silver, black, red, blue, yellow, purple, and two twilight
variants. The Rolls Royce Edition is also included.
The Honor Note 10 will come with a 6.9-inch screen
with a QHD+ resolution. It will be powered by the Kirin 970 with up to 6GB of
RAM and 128GB of storage. It is also expected to pack a 6,000mAh battery.
