Cubot Nova had initially appeared in the news some 3
months ago as the device that would carry the new MT6739 SoC. The biggest
highlight of the SoC is that it supports many network bands and allows for dual
4G FDD/TDD-LTE. The D/U speeds reach 150Mbps/50Mbps and there is dual standby
support as well as dual VoLTE. it also supports eMBMS, HPUE, 600MHz frequency
band and TAS 2.0 smart antenna system that improve signal reception when
holding the phone.
Cubot Nova features a 5.5″ 18:9 HD+ display and has
a body size close to traditional 5″ devices. Aside from the new SoC, it also
features 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is a bit low but you can
add up to 128GB more via microSD card. There is an 8MP front camera and on the
rear, there is a 13MP one along with fingerprint sensor. The battery is just
2800mAh but that’s mostly due to the slim body. Surely, Cubot could have done a
better job with the battery but the Android 8.1 should help in that sector with
its excellent power management.
As for its price, the Cubot Nova’s current price is
just US$ 89.09 and is available on Cubot’s official Aliexpress Store.
