Xiaomi will launch the Redmi 6 next week. The new
phone will succeed the 6-month old Redmi 5. While that may seem early, that has
been the least concern for fans of the brand, instead, the phone’s design (read
notch) has not been well received.
A new live photo of the Redmi 6 has leaked online
and it shows the phone in a new color variant which kind of looks better than
the first leaked photo. Unlike the first live photo (and TENAA images) we have
seen of the Redmi 6 which shows the device with white front bezels, this new
variant has black bezels. The notch is still visible but the dark bezels sort
of makes it look better.
The notch is home to the earpiece, a camera, and
sensors and is much smaller than that of the Mi 8 series. Though the lower
bezel isn’t as thin. The back of the phone has a rose-gold finish with vertical
dual cameras, a fingerprint scanner, and antenna lines at the top and bottom.
The Redmi 6 will come with a 5.84-inch FHD+ screen,
a 3900mAh (4000mAh) battery, a 12MP primary camera on the rear, and a 5MP
selfie camera. It will be powered by an unspecified 2.0GHz octa-core processor
with 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM variants.
Following its launch next week, the phone will launch
outside China as the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite.
