The Xiaomi Mi 6X, the MIUI-running version
of the Mi A2 for China, was unveiled in late April at a starting price of CNY
1,600. That was for the version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage, but Xiaomi
has quietly launched a more affordable version.
The new model goes on sale June 1 and will normally
be priced at CNY 1,500, but will be discounted to CNY 1,400 (equivalent to US$ 220/€ 190) in honor of the company’s 8-year anniversary. It will have 32 GB of
storage (RAM remains 4 GB).
Everything else is the same – the 5.99” 1080p+
screen, the Snapdragon 660 chipset, the 12 + 20 MP dual camera and the lack of
a microSD slot. That’s a limitation to keep in mind if you do go for this
version of the Mi 6X.
