Samsung Galaxy J8

While Samsung did surprise everyone by making the Galaxy J8 official at the Galaxy A6/A6+ event in India last month, it did not declare a release schedule for the handset. Well, it looks like the company has made it official. The Galaxy J8 (2018) is coming on June 28 in India. It’s going to be one of the first markets where the downgraded Galaxy A6+ is getting released. Other countries that will follow suit are the UAE and Nepal.

The official announcement happened on Twitter after official firmware of the Galaxy J8 was spotted to be live on Sammy’s website. The official firmware did give the news away but shortly after, Samsung revealed the release date as well. Now that the release date is declared, we’re assuming sales will start earlier than previously thought in June or early July itself. We can also look forward to a launch in other markets other than those mentioned here in the coming weeks.

As for the specs, the handset is features a polycarbonate body and on the front sits a 6-inch HD+ display underneath which sits a Snapdragon 450 chip. This is helped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It makes do with a 16MP selfie shooter instead of the 24MP on the A6+ and the rear has a 16MP + 5MP combo. The battery is 3,500mAh capacity and it runs Android 8.0 Oreo.
