Elephone is doing a decent job in the wearables
market and so far they have released 4 smartbands with features similar to
other popular bands. Lately, information surfaced about their next model, the
Elephone Band W7 that is coming soon to compete with the king of smartbands,
Xiaomi Band 3.
As you can see in the comparison chart provided by
the company, the Band W7 beats its opponent in every single feature. There is a
big 0.96″ color display against the smaller, 0.78″ B&W display on the Band
3, and a bigger battery. But the feature that really stands out is the GPS
support. Until now, all smartbands lack GPS chip and rely on the GPS found in the
connected smartphone to track distance.
If Elephone has managed to equip the Band W7 with a
GPS receiver and at the same time retain a decent battery life, this would be
great news. We’ll found out soon, as it is almost ready to hit the market at a
surprise price.
