The Vkworld VK7000 is the latest rugged phone coming
from the entry-level Chinese phone maker. Presales for the device will kick off
on May 15th at the asking price of US$ 149.99, which is quite a good price tag for
the tri-proof smartphone.
Vkworld told us they managed to keep the price so
low thanks to a new marketing model they are adopting – F2C. F2C means “Factory
to Customer”, thus there’s no middleman or additional charges. This allows them
to include a wireless charger, a floating protective case and a screen
protector with a value of $49.99 for free.
The VK7000 is made of shock-resistant TPU material
on the front and back, meanwhile in the middle we find a metal frame. The
smartphone is IP68 and can withstand being in under 2 meters of water for 30
minutes. Vk7000’s display is also coated in Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which
means it’ll be hard to scratch or damage it, drastically increasing durability.
Vkworld’s phone comes with a 5.2-inch incell screen
sporting a resolution of 720×1280. It’s
powered by a MTK6750T Octa-Core CPU along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal
storage. Surprisingly enough the smartphone runs Android 8 Oreo for a smooth
user experience out of the box.
On the phone we find a big 5600mAh battery which
should provide quite a good autonomy with a reported standby time 18 days and
35 hours of talk time; the battery can be fast charged at 5V/2A through cable
or wirelessly if you so desire.
Finally, the VK7000 comes with a floating protective
case, which allows the smartphone to float when thrown into water, quite a neat
feature.
VK7000’s additional specs:
- IP68 Rating
- 16.0MP+5.0MP Dual Camera
- Side Fingerprint ID
- Face ID
- Philips Waterproof Earpieces
- AAC Waterproof Speaker
- Type-C port
The VK7000 can be pre-ordered right now over on the
official store or Banggood.
