A new Samsung branded smartphone has been spotted on the
website of Chinese telecommunication authority TENAA, and if speculations turn
out true, the device might be a version of the Galaxy S8- precisely the Galaxy
S8 lite.
A careful look at the images provided by TENAA
reveals a device with a Galaxy S8 design with its awkwardly placed fingerprint
scanner which the company already fixed with the newly launched Galaxy S9 duo.
With a design similar to the Galaxy S8, coupled with some stripped down
internals, our guess is that the newly certified phone could be the Galaxy S8
lite, and definitely not a Galaxy S8 mini owing to its huge display size.
The device packs the same display size as the S8+ –
featuring a 6.28-inch FHD+ (2,220 x 1080 pixels) OLED display, and with
dimensions 162.4 x 77.0 x 7.55mm and weight of 188 grams, the alleged Galaxy S8
lite is virtually the same size as the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S9+, and that can
be attributed to a slightly larger 3,700mAh.
We might have to wait
for some more convincing information on the alleged Galaxy S8 lite.
