Following on from the unveiling of the new System76
Linux Intel Nvidia laptop early this week in the form of the Oryx Pro Linux
laptop, powered by an Intel Core i7-8750H hexa-core processor and is capable of
supporting up to a Nvidia GeForce 1070 graphics cards. System76 have also
unveiled the new System76 Galago Pro Linux laptop which is now available with
either 14 or 13 inch displays depending on your preference.
By choosing the 14 inch display users will receive a
resolution of 1080p from a matte IPS display. While the 13.3 inch display
provides a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels. Internally the notebooks can be
installed with Intel Core i5-8250U and Core i7-8550U processor options
supported by up to 32GB of DDR4-2400 memory, and fitted with up to 6TB of solid
state storage. The laptops are also equipped with backlit keyboard keyboards
and a 720p webcam with 35.3 Wh battery.
The new Linux notebooks ship with a choice of either
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS or System76’s Pop!_OS 18.04 LTS, which is based on Ubuntu and
is also available on the Oryx Pro Linux laptop. Connections include a
Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C port, 2 x USB 3.1 Type-A ports, SD card reader, HDMI
and Ethernet jacks.
