Cyclists that own and Apple Watch may be interested
to know that new functionality has been rolled out this week providing the
ability to control the signalling technology on the Lumos Helmet cycling
helmet.
The newly added features are backwards compatible
for all existing Lumos Helmet Cycling helmets and have been rolled out as a
firmware upgrade which is available to download and install for free. The
creators of the Lumos explain a little more “The same great helmet that
beautifully integrates lights, hard brake, and turn signals into a cohesive
whole, now with our biggest software update yet, and amazing new features!”
Features of the new Lumos Helmet firmware update
include the ability to enjoy “Gesture Activated Turn Signals. We’ve developed
an Apple Watch app! Utilizing gesture recognition algorithms the Lumos app on
your Apple Watch can now sense when you are giving a hand signal, and activate
the turn signal on the helmet accordingly”. As well as – “Automatic Ride
Tracking.
By simply turning your helmet on and going for your ride, the Lumos
app on your iPhone will automatically record your ride activity. Better yet,
the ride data can be upload seamlessly to your Strava and Apple Health
account”.
