Asus launched an interesting model back at MWC 2018.
The ZenFone 5Q is considered to be the lite variant of the fifth generation of
Zenfones. This simply means it should come with trendy features and a stylish
look like its siblings. Today, the company announced the red variant will go on
sale on May 11 at a price tag of NTD 9999 (US$ 334).
The Asus ZenFone 5Q aka
ZenFone 5 Lite uses a 6-inch IPS full-screen with a resolution of 2160 × 1080
pixels. Unlike the ZenFone 5/5Z that comes with a 90% screen-to-body ratio and
19:9 aspect ratio, this model sports a regular full-screen design with a
canceled notch. Therefore, its aspect ratio is 18:9, while the screen-to-body
ratio is 80.3%. On the back, it uses a glass material. The body dimensions are
160.52 × 76.06 × 7.75mm, and it weighs 168.3g.
The Asus ZenFone 5Q is equipped with a Snapdragon
660 chip, which is based on a 14nm LPP process node and uses a Cortex A53
architecture as well as an octa-core design. The CPU is clocked at 2.2GHz and
the GPU is Adreno 508. The SoC is paired with a 4GB of memory, 64GB of native
storage, and a battery with 3300mAh capacity. It supports NFC.
Finally, the ZenFone 5Q comes with a 20MP (Sony
IMX376) + 8MP dual-camera on the front with an aperture of f/2.0 and an
equivalent focal length of 23.4mm. A 16MP+8MP camera is placed on the back. It
comes with a f/2.2 aperture, an equivalent focal length of 25.8mm, and supports
4K video recording.
Apart from the Rouge Red variant, the company has also
announced the Midnight black and Moonlight white color options.
