Vivo has launched the V9 smartphone.
The device shares a resemblance to the Vivo X21 flagship but with toned-down
specs. Now, specs of a less-powerful variant called the Vivo V9 Youth have
surfaced online.
The Vivo V9 Youth has a 6.3” FHD display with a 2280
x 1080 resolution. This means it has a notch just like its sibling. The display
is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and has a PPI of 403.
Vivo has swapped the Snapdragon 626 processor for a
Snapdragon 450. This is the same processor present in the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and
the newly launched Huawei Y6 (2018). Although, those two devices have an HD+
display.
The SD450 is paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of
storage. A dedicated memory card expansion slot allows you add up to an additional
256GB of storage. There is also OTG support.
The Vivo V9 Youth has dual rear cameras in a 16MP +
2MP configuration and a 16MP f/2.0 front-facing camera. The cameras support
bokeh mode, AI HDR, face beauty mode, 4K video recording, and AR stickers.
There is a 3260mAh battery, a rear-mounted
fingerprint scanner that doubles as a shutter button, Bluetooth 4.2, and
dual-band Wi-Fi. The phone will come with FunTouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1
Oreo.
There is no info on when it will go on sale and what
the price will be. Nevertheless, we hope it is reasonably priced.
