Vernee has been around the block for a while now,
offering decent-spec phones at aggressive prices, battling for that piece of
the midrange pie. With the new Vernee M6, the company has an offer that will
definitely draw some attention.
So, here's how it goes — the Vernee M6 is up for
pre-sale and costs US$ 129.99. However, the first 5 customers per day will be
given US$ 30 of their money back post-purchase, effectively bringing the price
down to US$ 99.99.
Well, it's a modern-looking smartphone with a
5.7-inch, 18:9 screen on the front. Its metal body is just 0.27 in (6.9 mm)
thick for an elegant look and feel. On the inside, there's an octa-core
MediaTek 6750 processor running things. It's a midrange SoC that can tick at
speeds up to 1.5 GHz. There's a generous storage chip of 64 GB and then there
are 4 GB of RAM.
The cameras sound good on paper — there's a 16 MP
shooter on the back that can focus on objects in 0.2 seconds. And, on the
front, a 13 MP sensor takes care of the selfies.
Despite being slim, the Vernee M6 still packs a
rather hefty battery — a 3,300 mAh cell in the trunk works in conjunction with
software battery optimizations to keep the lights on for a good amount of time.
The phone comes with Android 7 Nougat out of the box and Vernee's light custom
VOS user interface overlaid on top.
