VR hardware manufacturer and development company
Pimax have this week unveiled their new knuckle style motion controller which
has been specifically designed to support the new SteamVR 2.0 tracking
technology.
Following a similar design to the “Knuckles” controllers created
unveiled by Valve the new Pimax controller have been designed for virtual
reality users to provide an ‘open-palm’ experience. The motion controllers
accomplish this by strapping to your hand enabling you to completely open all
your fingers and thumb without the controller falling to the floor or hanging
from its safety wrist safety cord.
The development cycle of the Pimax VR controllers are expected
to be compatible with both SteamVR 1.0 and 2.0 tracking technologies. Pimax
explains that each button has been ergonomically designed to “fall under the
right finger, which will make the controller feels like an extension of your
body.”
