Lava has launched a new budget smartphone in the
Indian market under its Z-series. Dubbed as Lava Z91, the smartphone is priced
at Rs. 9,999, which roughly converts to US$ 154. The company has revealed that the
Lava Z91 will come with a 2-year warranty and one-time free screen replacement
offer. Further, buyers of the smartphone can also avail cashback worth Rs.
2,000 from Airtel.
The phone comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with
screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and a 2.5D curved glass on top. The
phone features a full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio, in line with the
current trend.
Under the hood, the budget smartphone is powered by
a MediaTek MTK6739 processor along with 3GB RAM. It packs 32GB internal storage
and comes with a microSD card slot, which enables users to further expand the
phone’s storage capacity up to 128GB.
In the photography department, the smartphone comes
with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. While it
does not feature a dual-camera setup, it offers a Bokeh mode. On the front
side, there’s an 8-megapixel camera with a f/2.2 aperture for taking selfies
and video calling.
The phone comes with a fingerprint sensor, placed on
the back panel. It also comes with a Face Unlock feature for added security.
The fingerprint sensor on the device can also be used as a shortcut to open
applications.
The device is running Android 7.1 Nougat operating
system out-of-the-box with the company’s Star OS custom user interface on top.
The phone is powered by a 3,000mAh battery, which should be enough to last an
entire day on a single charge.
