In Paris, Huawei announced their new flagship, the
Porsche Design Mate RS with triple rear Leica Cameras. It features a beautiful new sandwich glass
design with obvious Porsche Design influence which makes this the best looking
Huawei smartphone yet. It also has a 16.7 million color 18:9 6-inch touch
screen display with 2880 x 1440 pixels at 538 ppi.
Inside, it is powered by the 64-bit Kirin 970
Octa-core processor with i7 co-processor, Mali-G72 MP12 with the Neural Network
Processing Unit with Android 8.1 based EMUI 8.1 skin. For memory, it starts with 6GB of RAM and up
to 512GB ROM! It supports dual SIM slots, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, and USB
Type-C. It also has 24MP selfie camera,
up to 512GB ROM, 5G, dual speakers, and In-Display fingerprint scanning
technology.
The headline features are the three rear cameras
composed of the 40MP f/1.8 RGB + 20MP
f/1.6 monochrome + 8MP f/2.4 Telephoto with PDAF, CAF, Laser and Depth
autofocus. It features a new 5 times Hybrid Zoom. For video, it can shoot at 4K
and slow motion at 960fps.
Lastly, the battery is a 4000mAh with support for
Super Charge Technology with 5 amp charger. It measures 152.9 x 72.5 x 8.5 mm
with only 183 g of weight. It comes in an exclusive black color. There is a red
version but it is only for China.
The 256GB version starts at EUR 1,695 while the 512GB is at EUR 2,095.
