Huawei P20



Huawei has just launched the P20 and P20 Pro in an event in Paris, France. Coming from their predecessors, the P10 and P10 Plus, both the P20 and P20 Pro is looking way better on paper. Both boasts symmetrical design for comfortable hold, minimimal notch for more notifications versus the competition, edgeless fingerprint scanning design, crazy good cameras, and A.I. tech.

First is the P20, it is the smaller sibling of the P20 Pro. It boasts an IP53 water splash resistance, 5.8-inch FHD+ 2244 x 1080 resolution RGBW FullView screen with 770 nits of brightness at 428 ppi. It runs with the 2.36GHz Kirin 970 chip with NPU for A.I., and Mali-G72 MP12 GPU. It is paired with 4GB RAM, 128GB ROM, and big 3,400mAh battery capacity with 5A Super Charge technology via USB Type-C port.

On the camera part, it has a Leica powered 20MP f/1.6 monochrome sensor and 12MP f/1.8 RGB dual camera setup. It now has a 4D predictive focus, 5x hybrid zoom, 4K video recording, and 960 fps super slow motion video recording. It also has Huawei AIS that allows users to take long exposure shots even without a tripod for up to 6 seconds in total.

According to Huawei, its sensors are 22 percent than the S9+ and 61 percent larger than the iPhone X. For selfies, the P20 has a massive 24MP selfie camera with 3D facial enhancement to capture the best selfie even against the light and 3D portrait lighting. It also goes with face unlock mode aside from the fingerprint scanner.

It also has WiFi 4.2G and 5G, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, BLE, aptX, aptX HD, LDAC, and HWA are supported. The P20 boots with Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI8.1 skin on top and Google AR Core support.

The P20 will be available in midnight blue, graphite black, pink gold, and very cool twilight color. In Europe, it is priced at EUR 649.
