Chinese Chuwi are not just the tablet/laptop makers
and they have been dabbling in the past into the world of mini PC world too.
And encouraged by their previous success on the crowdfuding platform Indiegogo,
they will be launching a new campaign there by the end of April. And this time
it looks pretty promising with a stacked mini gaming PC Chuwi HiGame.
There will be not much of a compromise and this mini
PC will be powerful enough to fully replace your traditional desktop computer.
And with ultra compact dimensions (just 173*158*73mm). It will be running the
8th-Gen Intel Kaby Lake-G platform processor Intel Core i5-8305G paired with
AMD Radeon RX Vega M graphic card with 4 GB RAM. The PC will have 8 GB DDR4 RAM
and 128 GB M.2 SSD storage at their disposal for starters, but you can easily
upgrade it via two more DDR4 SO-DIMM sockets, one more M.2 PCIe SSD slot and
one 2.5″ SATA HDD bay.
The ports will be plentiful too with a Thunderbolt
3, five USB 3.0 ports, gigabit LAN, two HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort for good
measure. Chuwi Hi Game can support 4K@60Hz Ultra HD encode/decode and the level
of performance is enough for the VR/MR headsets or multiple display solutions
(up to 6 monitors). Throw in the Bluetooth 4.2 and dual band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi and you have more or
less a perfect computer already assembled.
We shall see how much it will cost, because in the
end that’s always the decisive factor for most customers. There is already a
giveaway event running on the Chuwi’s website and you can also subscribe for
the newsletter to get the super early bird price info about the Indiegogo
crowdfunding campaign.
