Asus has this week introduced a pair of new compact
and lightweight laptops to its range of systems taking the form of the Asus
X407 and X507. The new laptop systems can be equipped with up to 7th Generation
Intel Core i7 processors supported by NVIDIA GeForce MX110 discrete graphics
with internal storage provided by a dual-storage design with a 1TB HDD and
256GB solid state drive (SSD).
The Asus X407 and X507 laptops feature a NanoEdge
FHD display with a slim bezel and offer a 178 degree wide-view technology. ”For
a 15.6-inch laptop, X507 is extremely compact and portable – with a thin 21.9mm
profile and an overall weight of just 1.68 kg. Meanwhile, the 14-inch X407
weighs just 1.42 kg” says Asus.
Both laptops have been designed for entertainment
and daily computing needs and come pre-installed with Microsoft’s latest
Windows 10 operating system and the Intel Core i7 processor family supported by
up to 8GB DDR4 memory. Thanks to the inclusion of Windows 10 the laptops also
support Cortana with voice recognition, allowing the user to wake the device
from sleep mode simply by using the “Hey, Cortana” voice command if desired.
The Asus X507 laptop features connections for a USB
3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x HDMI port and a microSD card
reader. Connectivity is provided by 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2
support and the laptop is fitted with a battery that supports fast charging
requiring only 49 minutes to charge from flat to 60 percent explains Asus. The
laptops are available in a choice of Star Grey or Icicle Gold finishes.
Unfortunately, no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been
