Graphics tablet manufacturer Wacom has today
unveiled a new addition to their range of hardware in the form of Wacom Cintiq
Pro Engine modules. Designed to transform the Cintiq Pro graphics tablet into a
Windows 10 workstation. The Cintiq Pro Engine module simply slots into the back
of the Cintiq Pro 24 transforming the Pro 24 into a full Windows 10 creative
studio that is capable of supporting even the most “demanding programs and
applications” used by creative professionals, says Wacom.
The new
Windows 10 modules available in two different versions, the Cintiq Pro Engine
i5 priced at US$ 2,499 or the Cintiq Pro Engine Xeon priced at US$ 3,299. Both
modules will be available during May 2018 in Japan, US and selected countries
throughout Europe.
Specifications for the Cintiq Pro Engine i5 modules
include support for Windows 10 Pro, Intel Core i5 HQ (Quad Core) processor and
NVIDIA Quadro P3200 6GB GDDR5, supported by 16GB of RAM together with 256GB
SSD, PCIe Gen3. Other features include connectivity via 2 x USB-C, 1x mHDMI, 1
x mDP, 2 x DC-in, Ethernet port, 802.11 ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 with
fTPM(TPM2.0) security.
The Cintiq Pro Engine Xeon specifications include
support for Windows 10 Pro for Workstation with power provided by an Intel XEON
processor supported by NVIDIA Quadro P3200 6GB GDDR5 with 32GB of RAM and 512GB
SSD, PCIe Gen3. The Cintiq Pro Engine Xeon also offers the same connection as
previously mentioned for the Cintiq Pro Engine i5 module.
