Sony on Tuesday took the stage in Beijing to
officially announce the Xperia XA2 Ultra for ¥ 2,999, approximately US$ 475.
Unveiled at CES 2018, the XA2 Ultra has finally reached the Chinese shore is
already up for pre-order on Jingdong.
The XA2 Ultra retains much from its predecessor when
it comes to design with some differences like the repositioning of the
fingerprint scanner on the back and the camera. It comes with the usual suite
of physical buttons which includes the dedicated camera key which every
manufacturer should incorporate in their smartphones.
The Xperia XA2 Ultra sports a 6-inch display which
is not a full screen panel. It has the traditional 16:9 aspect ratio making it
quite the phone when it comes to size. It has a resolution of 1980 x 1080
pixels. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset coupled with 4GB
of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage. The XA2 Ultra is aimed at selfie
enthusiats, which is evident from the dual camera setup of a 16MP and an 8MP
sensors that sits in the front. The front camera also features Optical Image
Stabilization. On the back sits a 23MP f/2.0 snapper with hybrid autofocus,
support for 4K video and 120fps slow motion recording. Under the hood lies a
3580mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0. It runs Android Oreo 8.0 out
of the box with Sony’s custom UI on top.
The Xperia XA2 Ultra will be officially on sale
starting 12th March at 10 AM. Pre-orders are now up on Jingdong.com.
