Recently Samsung SM-A600FN and SM-A605G surfaced on
Geekbench earlier, pointing to the a Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ smartphones being
prepared for a launch. According to SamMobile, the Korean company will indeed
launch these devices, but only at three markets - Europe, Russia, and Middle
East.
The Samsung Galaxy A6 is reportedly coming with
Exynos 7870 chipset, seen in the Galaxy A3 (2017) and some phones from the more
affordable J series. The SoC is coupled with 3 GB RAM and is running Android
8.0 Oreo, most likely with Samsung Experience UI 9.0 on top.
The Galaxy A6+ was shown with Snapdragon 625 and 4
GB RAM on Geekbench, which is a surprise, since Qualcomm chipsets are not
common for Samsung phones outside the US. The first phone in more than two
years to sport a Snapdragon became the ultra-affordable Galaxy J2 (2018) that
arrived in stores in the opening days of 2018.
Pricing is obviously going to vary from market to
market, but we are expecting the Galaxy A6 phones to be positioned in the lower
spectrum of the midranger segment, as hinted by their year-old chipsets.
