As the major announcements from the MWC are getting
discussed, Evan Blass tweets a photo of the alleged Huawei P20 Lite, even
though it isn’t even set to be announced for another month.
For a while, Huawei’s P20 was rumored to have three
rear cameras, but when Blass tweeted the supposed picture of the P20 with a
notch in the display and dual rear cameras, we can pretty much hold our breaths
until we see a P20 Pro model, one that many hope will have three main cameras.
Triple cameras aside, Blass has an amazing track record when it comes to
smartphone leaks.
This morning, Blass tweeted a picture of the
supposed Huawei P20 Lite. One of the most notable differences between this and
the standard P20 model is the fingerprint scanner placement. The Huawei P20
Lite will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner while the Huawei P20 will
have the biometric sensor squeezed into the lower bezel of the phone.
The P20 Lite’s back panel looks to be of a matte
finish, with a body that would likely be made of conventional metal while the
P20 looks to have a glossy back finish, likely made of glass. This would put
the P20 in line with Huawei’s new design language that was introduced with the
Huawei Mate 10.
Additional specifications for the Huawei P20 Lite include
a Kirin 659 CPU running Android 8.0 Oreo. There are also 4GB of RAM and 64GB of
internal storage. Finally, the battery pack will be rated for 3,520mAh. The P20
Lite’s dual cameras will have Leica Branding and 16MP sensors with Hybrid-zoom
capabilities.
The Huawei P20 (with possible mentions of a P20
Lite, P20, P20 Plus, and P20 Pro) is going to be announced in Paris on March
27. Until then, we’ll be letting you all know of any other leaks and rumors.
