After first being unveiled back in CES 2018 in
January HTC has now been showcasing their new HTC Vive Pro virtual reality
headset complete with the new Vive Wireless adapter providing a wireless way
for users to engage in VR applications and games. At MWC 2018 this week HTC has
been demonstrating the new Vive Pro wireless headset by offering attendees to
MWC 2018 a hot air balloon ride experience, complete with wind fan and hot air
balloon basket to add to the immersive effect.
As yet no availability or pricing has been announced
for the new Vive Pro VR headset which will provide a higher resolution than the
currently available HTC Vive virtual reality headset, together with larger room
scale support. Once the headset is officially launched the HTC Vive Pro will
offer users a resolution of 1,600 × 1,440 per-eye.
When using the new Vive Wireless adapter, the Vive
Pro VR headset requires just two cables to function in the form of a short HDMI
cable from the headset and a USB cable for power attached to the battery pack
worn around your belt or simply slipped into your pocket. If you are to use the
new Vive Wireless VR adapter with the original Vive, then four connections will
be required three from the headset and one USB connection from the power pack.
As soon as more information is announced regards
availability, specifications or pricing for the new HTC Vive Pro virtual
reality headset or the Vive Wireless transmitter will keep you up-to-date as
always.
